CLARK ASHTON SMITH
The Foundation of his Published Work |

There is a lot of access to Smith's stories, as he is continuing to be published under various collections. Most of his work can be found on the Web with very little time or trouble. Below is an amended list of what I consider the foundation of his most popular production. Panther in the UK published all six collections intact in the 1970s, breaking some of them into volumes I and II. Ballantine with its Adult Fantasy Series under the influence of Lin Carter, re-arranged the stories into their various cycles:
Unfortunately, the Averoigne Cycle was never anthologized. Timescape threw its ink into the rink in the 1980s, collating them differently and themed in a way I have yet to comprehend:

His artwork—including sculptures and paintings—is extensively reproduced and detailed. http://www.worldofschmitt.com/writings/smith/ contains on-line versions of many of his stories. So, if you are looking for an obscure or astray tale to peruse, check here. --THIS RESOURCE HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF LINE AS OF 2007, SO YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN.
